Senior AI Engineer

A growing organization is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to help design, implement, and support enterprise AI solutions across a multi-cloud technology environment. This highly technical role will provide expertise across AI platforms, automation, governance, security, and AI-enabled business process transformation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with enterprise AI platforms, cloud technologies, automation, and AI governance, along with the ability to translate complex technical capabilities into practical business solutions.

Responsibilities

Enterprise AI Architecture & Engineering
Provide senior-level technical expertise across enterprise AI platforms and cloud-based AI services.
Design, configure, implement, optimize, and administer AI solutions across multiple cloud environments.
Develop technical standards, architectural guidelines, governance practices, and operational processes for enterprise AI.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for complex AI platform issues.
Develop automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
Evaluate emerging AI technologies and platform capabilities and make recommendations regarding their potential business and technical value.
Research and stay current on developments across the broader AI ecosystem.
AI-Enabled Automation & Business Solutions
Design and implement AI-driven workflow automation and business process improvement solutions.
Partner with internal business and technical stakeholders to understand operational challenges and translate those needs into scalable AI solutions.
Develop integrations between AI services, cloud platforms, automation tools, APIs, and approved third-party applications.
Support the development and adoption of AI assistants, conversational solutions, agents, model endpoints, connectors, and related technologies.
Help identify opportunities to use AI to improve productivity, streamline processes, and enhance business operations.
Develop repeatable development and lifecycle practices for AI-enabled applications and automation.
AI Governance, Security & Information Protection
Help design and implement governance and information-protection capabilities across enterprise AI environments.
Develop and maintain data classification, retention, sensitivity, and information lifecycle practices for AI-enabled solutions.
Design and enhance security controls for AI workloads across multiple cloud environments.
Partner with security, privacy, legal, records management, and business stakeholders to translate organizational requirements into practical technical solutions.
Help establish responsible AI development, deployment, administration, and lifecycle practices.
Monitor emerging security, governance, and compliance capabilities within the AI industry and recommend improvements.
Technical Leadership & Innovation
Serve as a senior technical subject matter expert and resource for other technology professionals.
Provide technical guidance, recommendations, and knowledge sharing across the organization.
Independently research and evaluate new technologies and determine how they may be applied to business needs.
Help establish engineering best practices for enterprise AI development and administration.
Support the organization as it evaluates and adopts emerging AI capabilities.
Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and practical manner to both technical and business audiences.

Required Experience

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant technical experience.
3+ years of relevant professional experience in AI engineering, cloud technology, automation, enterprise technology, or a related field.
Strong experience administering and engineering enterprise AI platforms.
Experience with one or more major cloud AI ecosystems, such as Microsoft Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot/Foundry/Power Platform, AWS AI services, Google Cloud AI, or comparable technologies.
Experience developing AI-enabled solutions, workflow automation, and business process improvements.
Experience with enterprise AI governance, information protection, security, or compliance.
Strong understanding of authentication, security practices, and cloud-based technology environments.
Advanced scripting and automation experience.
Ability to independently research, evaluate, design, and implement complex technical solutions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders and leadership.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and business teams.

Preferred Experience

Experience with some or all of the following is preferred: Enterprise AI administration and AI assistant/agent development. AI governance and security controls. Low-code and enterprise automation platforms. Cloud-based application architecture and lifecycle management. Enterprise data platforms and integration technologies. Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, Power Platform, or comparable platforms. AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, or comparable cloud AI services. Google Vertex AI or similar technologies. APIs and cloud development technologies, including serverless and integration services. Microsoft Graph API, Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, or comparable technologies. Foundation models and major AI model providers. Experience securely integrating foundation models and AI services into enterprise workflows. Experience working across multiple cloud environments. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is more than an AI developer. This person should be comfortable working at the intersection of AI engineering, cloud architecture, automation, security, governance, and business process improvement. We’re looking for someone who can take a business problem, determine where AI can create value, design the appropriate technical solution, and then help implement, secure, govern, and support that solution in an enterprise environment.
