Sr. CNC Machine Operator

A growing custom manufacturing organization is seeking a highly experienced CNC machining specialist to support precision wood component production within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on operator with deep CNC routing expertise, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a passion for quality craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Operate advanced CNC routing and machining equipment used in wood component manufacturing
Perform machine setup, tooling adjustments, calibration, and production changeovers
Execute and modify machining programs to ensure dimensional accuracy and production efficiency
Read and interpret technical drawings, cut sheets, specifications, and work instructions
Inspect first-run and in-process parts to verify quality standards and tolerances
Troubleshoot machining issues, tooling concerns, and equipment-related production interruptions
Support process improvements related to machining efficiency, quality, and workflow optimization
Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to other CNC operators and production staff
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment
Communicate production challenges, quality concerns, and equipment issues to leadership in a timely manner
Follow all workplace safety standards, operational procedures, and manufacturing guidelines

Required Experience

10+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience within a manufacturing environment
Extensive experience operating CNC equipment used for wood, plywood, and engineered material processing
Strong understanding of CNC programming interfaces and machine controls
Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and production specifications
Knowledge of tooling, material behavior, machine setup, and machining fundamentals
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
Ability to work independently while contributing within a collaborative production team
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred

Preferred Experience

Experience with multi-axis CNC machining operations Exposure to advanced machining software and CNC program editing Prior experience supporting or mentoring other machine operators Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing environments Ability to thrive in a high-production, deadline-driven setting Additional Information Full-time, onsite position Monday–Friday schedule Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
