Data Analyst – Business Intelligence & Visualization

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst with strong skills in SQL, Tableau, data visualization, and business intelligence. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into complex data, identifying trends and patterns, and turning analytical findings into clear, useful insights. The successful candidate will work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business questions, develop meaningful reporting solutions, and create dashboards and visualizations that help leaders make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Tableau and other business intelligence tools.
Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, relationships, anomalies, and opportunities.
Use SQL to extract, combine, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources.
Translate business questions and stakeholder needs into meaningful reporting and analytical solutions.
Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, define metrics, and determine the most effective way to present information.
Apply appropriate analytical and statistical techniques to investigate business questions and identify meaningful insights.
Perform data profiling and validation to identify inconsistencies and help ensure reporting data is accurate and reliable.
Investigate data quality issues in partnership with IT teams, data owners, and business users.
Review existing dashboards and reports and recommend improvements to usability, performance, functionality, and overall value.
Apply data visualization and dashboard design principles to make complex information easy to understand.
Use data storytelling techniques to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Help establish consistent reporting, visualization, and analytical standards.
Identify opportunities to improve data collection, reporting processes, and the organization’s overall use of analytics.
Support the development of reusable reporting and business intelligence solutions.
Help stakeholders better understand and use dashboards, metrics, and analytical findings.
Work collaboratively with technical teams and business leaders while managing multiple projects and priorities.

Required Experience

5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data visualization, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience developing interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau.
Strong proficiency with SQL and experience working with relational databases and complex datasets.
Proven experience analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights.
Experience gathering requirements and translating business questions into analytical or reporting solutions.
Strong understanding of data visualization principles, dashboard design, and reporting best practices.
Working knowledge of data modeling and the relationship between source data, analytical datasets, and reporting solutions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an investigative and curious approach.
Ability to explain what data means and communicate why findings are important.
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
Ability to explain technical and analytical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
Strong customer-service mindset and ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders who have varying levels of technical expertise.

Preferred Experience

Experience with Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud, including publishing, permissions, data sources, extracts, and dashboard performance. Familiarity with data warehouses, data lakes, and modern analytics environments. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or similar relational database platforms. Experience working with large datasets from multiple systems. Experience supporting data governance, data quality initiatives, metric definitions, or reporting standards. Experience with Python or R for data analysis, data preparation, or automation. Background in exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, or advanced analytics. Experience creating analytics solutions for operational, performance, management, or executive reporting. Tableau certification or a comparable data analytics certification is a plus.
