Regional Supplier Quality Engineer

Lead supplier quality initiatives across a growing manufacturing organization. This highly visible role partners with Purchasing, Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to improve supplier performance, reduce risk, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the quality and reliability of materials throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Supplier Quality Management
* Evaluate, qualify, and onboard new suppliers in partnership with Purchasing and Operations.
* Monitor supplier performance through scorecards, audits, KPIs, and vendor rating programs.
* Conduct supplier audits and onsite assessments to evaluate quality systems and process controls.
* Drive supplier corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Develop and maintain supplier quality standards and ensure alignment with corporate quality requirements.
* Partner with underperforming suppliers to improve quality, delivery, and process performance.

Incoming Material Quality
* Establish inspection requirements and quality standards for incoming materials.
* Investigate material defects and nonconformances identified during receiving, production, or customer use.
* Coordinate containment, corrective actions, and supplier communications regarding quality issues.
* Ensure proper segregation and control of nonconforming materials within inventory and ERP systems.

Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring
* Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics and performance dashboards.
* Analyze trends related to supplier defects, warranty claims, customer complaints, and production quality issues.
* Utilize statistical analysis and quality tools to identify improvement opportunities.
* Present findings and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams.

New Product & Project Support
* Support supplier qualification and product validation activities for new product introductions.
* Participate in supplier risk assessments, process reviews, and product approval activities.
* Collaborate with Engineering and Product Development teams to ensure suppliers can meet product specifications and quality requirements.
* Assist with PPAP reviews, control plans, FMEA activities, and process validation efforts.

Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement
* Lead root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action activities.
* Support ISO 9001 and other quality system compliance requirements.
* Conduct process audits and ensure adherence to quality procedures and standards.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, reliability, and waste reduction.
* Train and support operations personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices.

Required Experience

Qualifications

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline.
4+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, quality engineering, or related engineering roles.
Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting or maintaining ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
Experience conducting supplier audits and managing supplier corrective actions preferred.

Technical Skills
Strong understanding of quality engineering principles and methodologies.
Experience with quality tools including:
Root Cause Analysis
FMEA
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Control Plans
Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
Process Capability Analysis
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Experience using quality and data analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software preferred.

Preferred Experience

Preferred Qualifications Experience within industrial manufacturing, electronics, controls, automation, HVAC, or related technical industries. ASQ certifications such as CQE, CQA, or CSSBB. Experience supporting supplier quality programs across multiple facilities or regions. Knowledge of reliability engineering and product validation methodologies.
