IT Technician

The Entry Level Technician role is a starting point for an IT Technician. This role focuses on basic support tasks, assisting with routine troubleshooting, and helping to maintain systems. The IT Technician’s goal is to support the organization’s productivity, efficiency, and technical advancement.

Responsibilities

• Setup computers and basic peripheral devices (keyboards, mice, printers, etc.)
• Basic hardware checks (e.g., testing monitors, keyboards, and mice)
• Install standard software and ensure correct configuration for user needs
• Assist in maintaining local networks under the supervision of senior technicians
• Perform basic troubleshooting on systems and software, escalating more complex issues
• Provide user support by answering common IT-related questions and resolving basic problems
• Log and track repairs and maintenance activities
• Replace or repair simple computer parts under guidance
• Perform basic network setup and testing (e.g., connecting devices to Wi-Fi)
• Given the nature of IT operations, availability outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, may occasionally be required to complete tasks, perform maintenance, or meet critical deadlines.
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and organization

Required Experience

• Ability to maintain strong customer relationships by providing excellent service, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must possess strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test and possess a valid Driver’s License

Preferred Experience

• 0-2 years of experience in an IT Technician or similar role • Degree or certification in IT or a related field (optional) • Basic understanding of computer hardware and software systems • Basic knowledge of troubleshooting hardware and software issues
