Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer / Designer to join a well-established contractor and service-focused organization supporting commercial, institutional, industrial, and government clients throughout Central Pennsylvania. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional who enjoys working on practical, fast-paced projects involving upgrades, renovations, replacements, and facility improvements. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with operations, project management, estimating, and field teams to deliver high-quality electrical solutions for a wide variety of clients and facilities.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical engineering and design for projects including power distribution upgrades, lighting retrofits, equipment replacements, controls integration, and system improvements.
Prepare and review electrical drawings, one-lines, panel schedules, load calculations, and specifications.
Conduct site visits to review existing conditions, gather field measurements, and support project planning.
Collaborate with project managers, estimators, technicians, subcontractors, and clients to develop practical project solutions.
Assist in preparing scopes of work, budgets, estimates, and technical proposals.
Provide engineering support throughout all phases of a project, from concept through startup and closeout.
Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, safety standards, and customer requirements.
Evaluate existing systems and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements or modernization.
Support procurement by reviewing equipment submittals and coordinating material selections.
Maintain accurate project records, drawings, revisions, and technical documentation.
Assist with troubleshooting electrical systems and resolving field-related design challenges.

Required Experience

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
2+ years of electrical engineering or design experience in construction, MEP, industrial, or consulting environments preferred.
Experience with commercial, healthcare, industrial, educational, or institutional facilities is a plus.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.
Knowledge of power distribution, lighting systems, controls, and electrical code requirements.
Familiarity with load calculations, short circuit studies, or coordination studies is a plus.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
EIT or PE license is a plus, but not required.
Valid driver’s license required.

He/she will work with other subcontractors and organize fire alarm, security, etc. He/she will coordinate with the job foreman and make sure all close out documents, time sheets and paperwork are sent back to the office. Oversees the safety of the job site and makes sure all toolbox talks are completed weekly. If there are any special safety concerns, makes owners and office aware of them.
