Data Engineer (Remote – U.S. Based)

A rapidly growing, design-focused e-commerce company is seeking a senior-level Data Engineer to lead the evolution of its data infrastructure. Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines across multiple data sources
* Consolidate structured and unstructured data into centralized systems (data warehouse or data lake architecture)
* Maintain data integrity, governance, security, and quality standards
* Partner with stakeholders to support reporting, dashboarding, marketing analytics, and commerce data needs
* Architect and implement RESTful APIs using frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI
* Lead integration efforts across ERP, CRM, OMS, and other commerce-related platforms
* Support AI and machine learning initiatives by ensuring stable and secure data systems
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex ETL and data integration challenges
* Contribute to best practices through code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing
* Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend infrastructure improvements

Required Experience

* 4+ years of professional experience in Python (expert-level proficiency preferred)
* Strong SQL expertise and experience with relational and non-relational databases
* Experience with data orchestration and integration tools such as Airflow, Luigi, Dagster, Pandas, PySpark, Singer, or similar
* Experience building scalable cloud-based solutions in AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure
* Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
* Familiarity with Agile development environments and sprint-based workflows
* Experience working with commerce or e-commerce data environments
* Understanding of ERP, CRM, and order management systems
* Exposure to AI/ML integration within production environments
* Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
