Commercial Superintendent – Groton, CT

We are seeking experienced Superintendents to join our growing commercial construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for field leaders who take pride in delivering high-quality projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. We have multiple openings available and are looking for professionals with experience managing projects of varying size and complexity. The Superintendent will oversee all on-site construction operations, coordinate subcontractors and vendors, maintain project schedules, enforce safety standards, and ensure quality execution from start to finish. This role works closely with Project Managers and internal leadership to drive successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Direct and manage all daily field operations for assigned construction projects.
Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel to maintain productivity and quality standards.
Develop and maintain short-term schedules, look-ahead plans, and overall project sequencing.
Lead weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors to review schedule progress, safety concerns, manpower, and upcoming activities.
Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure proper execution of work.
Identify constructability concerns and collaborate with project teams to resolve issues proactively.
Conduct regular quality control inspections to ensure workmanship meets project standards.
Monitor site safety compliance and participate in safety meetings, inspections, and corrective actions.
Coordinate deliveries, equipment needs, staging areas, and site logistics.
Prepare daily reports documenting progress, manpower, weather conditions, delays, and milestones.
Manage punch list completion and ensure all deficient work is corrected prior to turnover.
Assist with change order documentation, schedule impacts, and cost-related field reporting.
Support closeout activities including as-built drawings, final inspections, and project turnover.
Mentor Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and other developing staff members.

Required Experience

Qualifications
5+ years of commercial construction field experience in a supervisory role.
Experience leading projects ranging from smaller renovations to ground-up builds preferred.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple trades and personalities on-site.
Strong understanding of scheduling, sequencing, quality control, and safety practices.
OSHA certification preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Ability to work additional hours when required to meet project deadlines.
