Commercial Construction HVAC Superintendent

Senior field leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple commercial HVAC construction projects, driving job-site efficiency, safety, quality control, and team performance across active installations.

Responsibilities

* Lead, mentor, and hold field teams accountable for performance and safety standards
* Conduct routine site visits to assigned projects and maintain presence during major project milestones (equipment lifts, start-ups, inspections, etc.)
* Coordinate closely with project managers and foremen to address scheduling, manpower planning, and logistics
* Evaluate potential field challenges and communicate solutions proactively
* Oversee material ordering, equipment rentals, and tool tracking processes
* Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback
* Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and professional manner
* Promote a strong culture of safety and quality control across all job sites
* Collaborate with subcontractors, general contractors, and vendors to ensure project alignment
* Monitor daily field reporting, labor tracking, and documentation accuracy
* Identify opportunities for operational efficiency improvements and new technologies
* Assist with incident investigations, safety audits, and compliance reviews
* Capture project progress documentation when appropriate
* Perform additional related duties as assigned

Required Experience

* 5–10 years of experience in commercial mechanical or HVAC construction
* Prior experience as a foreman or field supervisor strongly preferred
* Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems installation practices
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong written and verbal communication abilities
* Excellent organizational, delegation, and time-management skills
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, equipment manuals, and submittals
* Proficiency with modern construction technology tools (project management software, tablets, mobile applications, etc.)
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills and initiative
* Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and personalities
