Outside Sales – Commercial Sales

The Outside Sales Representative contacts assigned customer accounts or prospects to sell company products within a designated geographic territory. Focuses on personal sales targets, new business development, maintaining customer relationships, and troubleshooting specific customer problems. This is an intermediate level sales professional with developing product and market knowledge.

Responsibilities

* Meets personal sales targets as established, focusing on small to moderate accounts, which are stable in nature, within identified markets or geography; product range, complexity, and challenge may be somewhat limited
* Receive periodic coaching from supervisor or more experienced professional
* Prepare sales presentations, contacts, and proposals subject to review by a supervisor
* Participate in special projects such as major promotions, new product launches, and new marketing initiatives
* Seek out and develop new customer relationships
* Keep watch for prospective projects and accounts
* Provide customer(s) with accurate quotes in a timely manner
* Keep up to date with new innovations and specifications for future projects
* Discuss vendor issues and/or market trends with managers
* Maintains open communication with office support staff
* Maintains and grows existing relationships with customers
* Keep a current understanding of the market place
* Learn and be the authority for specifications in territories you are selling in
* Know your customers
* Be the problem solver; know or will obtain the answer
* Create innovative solutions for your customers
* Be informed about and know the competition

Required Experience

Degree:
* Bachelors degree preferred but not required with additional experience
* Years of Experience: 2-5
* Experience required in relatable field: Utilities, Water, Sewer, Storm, Construction, or Manufacturing
