MEP Estimator (Belleview, FL)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced MEP Estimator to join a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

Duties:

Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate estimates for projects.
Utilize software for quantity take-offs and cost calculations.
Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather relevant information for pricing.
Negotiate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain the best pricing for materials and services.
Prepare detailed bid proposals, including breakdowns of labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
Monitor project budgets throughout the construction phase to ensure adherence to estimates.
Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for accurate estimating.
Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to bidding processes.
Attend walk-throughs for potential projects, making note of the geographical features of the site, access to infrastructure (roads, electricity, sewer, etc.), and existing building conditions.
Attend pre-bid site inspections and pre-bid meetings as required.
Consider all materials, equipment, labor, tools, and any other resources needed to complete the job.
Preparation of bid documentation.
Maintain an electronic filing system for all estimates.
Prepare and present requests for design information and bid qualifications.
Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors.
Remain involved in a project to help maintain the profit margin and handle any changes in the original estimates.
In addition to monetary costs, one must take into account the duration, scope, and potential profitability of a new project or product.

Required Experience

Experience:

Proven experience as a plumbing and mechanical estimator or similar position.
Must know current Plumbing and Mechanical codes
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam Revu, and Estimation Software.
Ability to prepare estimates with minimum supervision.
Thoroughness and reliability.
Excellent organizational skills.
College degree or training in mechanical engineering and/or journeyman plumbing/mechanical experience preferred.
