Full Stack Software Engineer

We are working with an established organization seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join its technology team in a fully remote capacity. This is a hands-on development role for someone who enjoys building software but also likes being close to the people and business processes using it. The engineer will work across application development, integrations, databases, troubleshooting, production support, and new functionality while partnering with both technical teams and business users. The ideal candidate is someone who can move comfortably between writing new code, troubleshooting an application issue, digging into a database, working through an integration problem, and talking with a user to understand what is actually happening.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack business applications using C#, .NET, and related Microsoft technologies.
Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, business logic, and data-access components.
Build and enhance web-based user interfaces using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and related technologies.
Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and other SQL Server components.
Investigate application problems across the front-end, back-end, database, integration, and configuration layers.
Troubleshoot and resolve escalated application issues and production defects.
Work directly with users and internal support teams to understand reported problems, determine business impact, and identify appropriate solutions.
Distinguish between software defects, data issues, configuration problems, process issues, and requests for new functionality.
Respond to urgent production issues and implement well-tested fixes when business-critical problems arise.
Perform root-cause analysis and identify opportunities to prevent recurring issues.
Develop and maintain integrations between internal applications, business systems, third-party platforms, and other enterprise technologies.
Troubleshoot data flow and integration issues and ensure information moves accurately between systems.
Translate business requirements and user needs into practical technical solutions.
Participate in the design and development of application enhancements, new functionality, and process automation.
Review existing applications and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, maintainability, and user experience.
Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to promote consistent development practices and quality.
Follow established development, security, source-control, testing, and deployment standards.
Participate in application testing, releases, deployments, and post-release validation.
Create and maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, application documentation, and support information.
Work collaboratively with other developers, IT professionals, business stakeholders, and support personnel.
Contribute to technology initiatives, system improvements, integrations, and other special projects as needed.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of professional software development or software engineering experience.
Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET / .NET Core.
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including writing complex queries and working with stored procedures, functions, and database structures.
Experience developing and supporting RESTful APIs and system integrations.
Experience with modern front-end development using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, or similar technologies.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software development lifecycle practices.
Experience troubleshooting and supporting production applications.
Experience working with users or internal support teams to diagnose and resolve application issues.
Ability to troubleshoot problems across application code, databases, integrations, data, and system configuration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to urgent technical issues.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a technology team.

Preferred Experience

Experience supporting applications connected to ERP or other enterprise business systems. Experience with applications supporting areas such as order management, inventory, distribution, operations, finance, ecommerce, or reporting. Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-hosted applications. Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and automated deployment processes.
