Accounting & Office Support Specialist

A well-established, close-knit organization is seeking a reliable and versatile Accounting & Office Support Specialist to provide day-to-day support to an experienced accounting professional and help keep the office running smoothly. This is a flexible, long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys being a hands-on team member and is willing to jump in wherever needed. The ideal candidate does not need an accounting degree or extensive accounting experience, but should be comfortable assisting with payroll, tax-related documentation, phones, administrative tasks, and general office support. Responsibilities

Accounting & Payroll Support
Assist with payroll processing and related administrative responsibilities.
Help prepare and organize income tax statements and other tax-related documentation.
Assist with maintaining accurate financial and employee records.
Provide administrative support to the accounting function as needed.
Help ensure important paperwork and deadlines are handled accurately and on time.
Office Support
Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
Assist with general office and administrative tasks.
Help keep day-to-day office activities organized and running smoothly.
Provide additional support during particularly busy periods.
Jump in to help with a variety of tasks as needed.
Team Support
Work closely with the senior accounting team to help manage workload during peak periods.
Be willing to learn the organization’s processes and take on additional responsibilities over time.
Serve as a dependable resource who can step in and help wherever needed.
Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive, hardworking office environment.

Required Experience

Qualifications
Previous experience in accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, office administration, or a related area preferred.
An accounting degree is not required.
Comfortable working with payroll and basic financial information.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Organized and able to keep track of multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
Comfortable answering phones and interacting professionally with employees, customers, and other contacts.
Strong computer and administrative skills.
Ability to learn new processes and systems quickly.
Reliable, dependable, and willing to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
Comfortable working independently while also being a team player.
A strong “can-do” attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
