Systems Administrator – Virtualization & Windows Infrastructure

We are seeking a mid-level Systems Administrator to support and maintain complex Intel-based server environments and multiple hypervisor platforms, with Nutanix serving as the primary virtualization technology. This role is responsible for ensuring stability, security, and performance of Windows server infrastructure, virtual desktop environments, and associated applications. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and experienced in enterprise-level system administration and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

Windows Server Administration
* Administer and support Windows Server operating systems across multiple versions.
* Troubleshoot server and application performance issues.
* Manage Active Directory environments, including Group Policy and security configurations.
* Perform server patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation.
* Support IIS web servers and manage SSL/TLS certificates, including renewals.
* Create and maintain system images and baseline server templates aligned with security best practices.
* Participate in incident management, project delivery, and compliance initiatives.
* Collaborate with application owners to establish and maintain backup and retention policies.
* Monitor and measure system performance; identify and implement efficiency improvements.

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) & Virtualization
* Support daily operations, incidents, and project work related to virtual desktop environments.
* Assist with enhancing platform stability, performance, and recoverability.
* Identify opportunities to improve virtualization efficiency and reliability.
* Ensure compliance with organizational security and audit requirements.
* Perform operating system and hardware maintenance within virtual environments.

Infrastructure & Technical Support
* Design, document, and maintain server configurations and layouts.
* Coordinate hardware, firmware, and platform upgrades across multiple server types.
* Apply emergency patches and hotfixes as required.
* Enforce and audit security standards and controls.
* Troubleshoot complex production and implementation issues across Intel-based applications.
* Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective solutions.

Required Experience

Education & Experience

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent professional experience and certifications.
* 5–10+ years of experience in Windows server administration and virtualization environments.
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and deliver large-scale technical initiatives on time.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams.

Preferred

* Industry-recognized systems or infrastructure certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, or similar).

Preferred Experience

* Experience with Hyper-V, XenServer, or VMware ESXi environments. * Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus). * Endpoint protection or antivirus administration experience. * Server hardware management tools (e.g., Dell OpenManage). * Backup and recovery platforms such as Rubrik. * Cloud or hybrid management tools (e.g., Azure Arc). * Citrix administration experience.

We are partnering with a growing organization in the Dayton area to identify an Installation Project Manager who will oversee field-based installation projects from start to finish.

He/she will work with other subcontractors and organize fire alarm, security, etc. He/she will coordinate with the job foreman and make sure all close out documents, time sheets and paperwork are sent back to the office. Oversees the safety of the job site and makes sure all toolbox talks are completed weekly. If there are any special safety concerns, makes owners and office aware of them.
