• Participate in the planning and coordination of moderately complex application software installations, patches, hot fixes, or maintenance to several Commercial Software products operating in a multiple platform environment, including but not limited to Linux, and Microsoft Windows.
• Collaborate with vendors, system administrators, developers, and other departments within to support and complete a variety of tasks (e.g. assist in the system configuration design, support complicated client workstation issues, help integrate systems with commercial software products, correct system problems and etc.) across various test and production systems.
• Assist with planning, coordinating, implementing and documenting security measures using National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) methodologies.
• Provide user provisioning for various software applications (e.g. add, rename, and delete users).
• Collaborate with various proprietary administration tools to handle database modifications and application configuration.
• Assist in planning and/or implementing third party software installations, or maintenance in a Linux or Windows/SQL server client server environment.
• Promote software customizations through the various test, quality assurance and production systems.
• Improve and monitor performance.
• Research (e.g. trouble shoot issues, identify needed upgrades, remain current on new technology, and Tier 3 support) using internet, vendors, and coworkers.
Search application and database logs to debug applications, email flow, database corruption, and database performance issues.
• Maintain/Update/Create database maintenance scripts for commercial software.
• Use monitoring tools to monitor database and application performance and use the information to improve the system.
• Manage moderately complex application, upgrades and etc.
• Partner with other Information Technology (IT) personnel, functional users and vendors to provide guidance, manage project implementation or users’ support.
• Mentor less experienced Software Engineers.
• Evaluate upgrades of moderately complex software to determine changes needed before implementation or how to leverage upgrade functionality.
• Required to stay current in industry specific knowledge.
• Monitor and update applications to mitigate application vulnerabilities.
• Administration support for SQL Server and Microsoft Windows Server
• Knowledge of SQL Server database concepts.
• Competent skills to debug and dig deeply into one specific task to uncover root cause and provide solution(s).
• Proficient use of the Linux, and Windows operating systems and scripting.
• Understand client/server and web architectures.
• Understand Safe Agile concepts
• Solid knowledge and concepts of purchased commercial systems – maintenance, upgrades and customizations.
• Understand concepts, characteristics, and capabilities of information technology hardware, software and networks.
• Experience leading a project.
• Possess ability to mentor others.
