Production and Inventory Analyst

The Production and Inventory Analyst is responsible for effectively planning and scheduling our raw material and finished goods needs both internal/external customers. Analyzing production data to identify opportunities for process and yield improvement, and cost reduction utilizing Lean Concepts This includes coordination between the customer, commercial teams, operations, logistics, sourcing, and finance to efficiently utilize current inventory and raw material sources to meet customer demand most profitably.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

Review, analyze, and coordinate effective utilization of raw material and production facilities/teams to meet customer demand. Ensure optimal inventory levels are held to meet current and upcoming customer demand.
Work with management to develop improvement plans, including identifying opportunities for cost reduction, increasing productivity, or improving quality of products or services
Schedule and direct Production Planning Meetings and track production performance to schedule minimizing overtime and maximizing plant yields. Notifies operations team of capacity issues; makes recommendations on staffing, outsourcing, overtime, and other capacity increasing tactics.
Lead efforts to utilize current and new raw materials sources providing both short- and long-term solutions.
Develop and maintain countermeasures to address root causes of customer service-related issues. Engage Sales, Operations and Customer Service if there is a supply chain breakdown or production issue that precludes meeting the customer requirement.
Develop and improve Operational processes utilizing Lean process improvement and projects.
Direct communication with customers regarding shipping schedules, availability, product data, specification sheets and freight.
Provides Operational Key Performance Indicator Metrics as required daily/weekly/monthly
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Experience

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited Institute (preferably in Materials Management) OR
5+ years of planning, production, and materials leadership experience
Experience leading Continuous Improvement initiatives
Experience in an MRP & ERP environment
Proficient with basic functions in MS Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Willing and able to travel 25% of the time
Common sense approach to production problems and ability to implement change when necessary
Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately, effectively and efficiently
