Precon & Estimating Manager

We are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee our Preconstruction and Estimating functions, driving excellence in project planning, client engagement, and departmental performance. This role combines leadership, strategic oversight, and hands-on involvement to ensure successful preconstruction outcomes for our projects.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor the Preconstruction and Estimating teams, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management.
* Oversee the preparation of conceptual, schematic, and design development estimates to support client decision-making.
* Develop and implement standardized processes and practices to enhance preconstruction efficiency and quality.
* Collaborate with project architects, engineers, and clients to identify issues, resolve challenges, and ensure accurate and coordinated project documentation.
* Track and maintain project budgets, monitoring design changes that could impact cost or schedule, and communicate implications to clients.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for preconstruction progress, technical solutions, and client communications.
* Coordinate with Estimating teams to develop accurate project budgets and presentation materials for owners and architects.
* Manage project performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms, safety protocols, and legal requirements.
* Lead value engineering and enhancement initiatives to optimize client outcomes and project profitability.
* Conduct constructability reviews and ensure seamless transition of projects from preconstruction to operations.
* Review and approve invoices, initiate billing processes, and support contract negotiations with owners.
* Facilitate subcontractor and supplier selection in alignment with project goals.

Collaboration & Reporting:
* Report directly to senior leadership within Preconstruction or regional management.
* Work closely with Estimating, Operations, and project teams to ensure alignment and delivery excellence.

Authority & Accountability:
* Lead the Preconstruction and Estimating departments, setting goals, and driving team effectiveness.
* Maintain rigorous preconstruction practices that meet client expectations and organizational objectives.
* Take ownership of project outcomes, proactively addressing challenges, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
* 3–10 years of construction experience, with significant exposure to preconstruction and estimating functions.
* Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally to support projects.
* Willingness to work additional hours to achieve business objectives.

He/she will take job meetings and provide minutes from those meetings to share with the office. He/she will pull permits and call for inspections. He/she will work with other subcontractors and organize fire alarm, security, etc. He/she will coordinate with the job foreman and make sure all close out documents, time sheets and paperwork are sent back to the office. Oversees the safety of the job site and makes sure all toolbox talks are completed weekly. If there are any special safety concerns, makes owners and office aware of them.
The Senior Database Developer is an expert in SQL Server database systems, configuration best practices, normalization strategies and coding standards. They are responsible for collaborating with the development team on future enhancements and improving existing systems through normalization and SQL optimizations. They coordinate database development tasks with project managers and work closely with the development team to translate business requirements to database design and implementation. They serve as an authority on database best practices and inform proper database design and performant SQL implementations
