HVAC/Plumbing Service Manager

The HVAC / Plumbing Service Manager is responsible for overseeing daily service operations for residential and commercial projects, including estimating, scheduling, technician dispatch, customer satisfaction, and project management. This role works closely with executive leadership, accounting, and field staff to ensure efficient workflows, accurate billing, strong client relationships, and consistent service quality. The manager is also expected to support business development efforts, identify growth opportunities, and help implement tools and processes that improve operational performance.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Estimate and manage residential and commercial HVAC and plumbing service projects

Schedule, coordinate, and dispatch service technicians

Implement and manage service and dispatch software platforms

Oversee customer satisfaction and service quality

Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers and clients

Support executive leadership with purchasing and inventory control

Develop new business opportunities for HVAC and plumbing services

Identify and collaborate on cross-division business opportunities when appropriate

Work with leadership, accounting, and support staff to improve estimating, job tracking, billing accuracy, and invoicing timelines

Manage assigned projects from initiation through completion

Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Experience

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required

Degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent work experience preferred

Minimum five years of supervisory experience in HVAC and/or plumbing service operations preferred

Working knowledge of mechanical construction and service environments

Experience in sales, estimating, or business development is a plus

Valid driver’s license, insurance, reliable transportation, and dependable phone access required

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus on essential job duties

Effective interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with coworkers, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and municipal officials

He/she will send the material lists out for quotes, purchase the material, track submittals, order special material, return any material that needs replaced or is defective. He/she will communicate on a daily basis with CFO with regards to any change orders or issues/concerns with invoicing the job. He/she will take job meetings and provide minutes from those meetings to share with the office. He/she will pull permits and call for inspections. He/she will work with other subcontractors and organize fire alarm, security, etc. He/she will coordinate with the job foreman and make sure all close out documents, time sheets and paperwork are sent back to the office. Oversees the safety of the job site and makes sure all toolbox talks are completed weekly. If there are any special safety concerns, makes owners and office aware of them.
