Commercial Construction – Groton, CT

The Project Manager is responsible for leading commercial construction projects through all phases of delivery while ensuring successful outcomes related to budget, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and sequencing strategies in collaboration with field leadership and internal teams.
Prepare and distribute project documentation including progress reports, schedule updates, cost tracking, and budget forecasts.
Lead regular meetings with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely resolution of issues.
Monitor project performance against schedule milestones, labor projections, and completion targets.
Identify delays or cost impacts, implement recovery plans, and communicate solutions to project stakeholders.
Manage project scope changes, including evaluating impacts to cost and schedule, pricing changes, and securing approvals.
Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and consistent project updates.
Oversee monthly billing, invoicing, and financial reporting to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
Resolve challenges that may affect project progress, profitability, safety, or customer satisfaction.
Coordinate closely with preconstruction and estimating teams during budgeting, buyout, and project transitions.
Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and other project documents to ensure compliance and successful execution.
Participate in subcontractor procurement, scope reviews, and contract negotiations.
Assist with staffing plans, scheduling, and resource coordination for project teams.
Mentor and supervise Project Engineers, Project Coordinators, and other support staff.
Promote jobsite safety by participating in planning meetings, conducting inspections, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Required Experience

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
3+ years of Project Management experience within commercial construction.
Experience managing projects valued at $5 million+ preferred.
Background in healthcare, institutional, industrial, or large-scale commercial projects is a plus.
Strong knowledge of project management, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents.
Experience presenting to clients and participating in business development efforts preferred.
OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications preferred.
Willingness to travel to project sites and work additional hours as needed to support project demands
