The pandemic has led to millions of job losses across the country, including in Central PA. As a recruiting firm, we wanted to think of ways to use our connections and skills to aid these talented, smart people who lost their positions during the market turndown through no fault of their own.
Introducing SGC’s Portfolio Power-Up.
On September 15, SGC will hold a special day for information technology job seekers. We’re calling it the Portfolio Power-Up, and we’re collaborating with two friends (also area small business owners) to offer free services to a small group of people whose job losses occurred because of COVID.
We want to help these candidates reinvent themselves for their return to the job market. We hope to give attendees new resources, greater confidence and better information that can assist them with their job search.
Each person will rotate through our three Power-Up Pods, where they will receive:
- 1. Job searching tips and advice from SGC recruiters
- 2. Advice on what to wear to a ZOOM interview from stylist Kristen Campbell, owner of Threads of Hershey
- 3. A new headshot for their LinkedIn profile by John Williams of JDUB Photography
The event, which will be held at our Camp Hill office, will be socially distant, of course. (We are only allowing one person at a time to each Pod, are taking temperatures upon entering our office, and so forth.)
