Introducing Our 2021 Volunteer Challenge!

For as long as Susan Graham Consulting has been around (that’s more than 10 years now!), we have embraced the ethos of giving back. We all believe it’s the right thing to do, though all of us have different causes dear to our hearts and reasons for giving back.

We have seen how kindness can make the world a better place, and we love that. Everyone has gone through times when things aren’t going our way. We have all benefitted from a helping hand. At SGC, we are glad to provide that assistance when we can, and we encourage everyone we work with to do the same.

And so, we have found ways not just to give back ourselves but also push our team to do it. We know that often it’s not a matter of wanting to volunteer — everyone wants to help — but rather fitting it into our busy schedules that’s the issue. That’s why we offer PTO so that our consultants and employees have time to pursue volunteer work that’s important to them.

This year, we’re embarking on a new program to encourage SGC consultants far and wide to volunteer. We’re calling it the SGC 2021 Volunteer Challenge.

As a staff, we’re working toward amassing 80 total volunteer hours this year. Every time one of our team logs an hour, we’ll record it. Eighty is an ambitious goal, but we know we can get there together.

We decided to open this up and turn it into a competition. We’re challenging our consultants to match — or even surpass — our total of 80 volunteer hours this year.

How the Volunteer Challenge Works

We’ve set up an SGC 2021 Volunteer Challenge page where we will all log our volunteer hours. The question is, who will make it to 80 first, the SGC employees or our consultants? We can’t wait to see how this plays out.

You can keep an eye on the thermometers that show the competing tallies of volunteer hours on the Volunteer Challenge page. That page includes instructions on how to log your hours by using the password we provided via email. (Please remember that you need to add your hours to the existing ones on the thermometer and record that total — we want to make sure our consultants get credit for all of their great work.)

Even during hard times, there are always silver linings, and one of those is seeing how we can help others through their own difficult periods. We think 2021 is going to be a great year. Please join us in making it happen!
