Boutiques – Not Just For Hair Anymore

Let me tell you about my friend Curtis.  Curtis is an “Internet Marketing Specialist” who knows more about how to make things like ranking and placement and optimization improvements to your website than anyone I have ever met.  Sure, I’ve dropped acronyms like SEO around my non-technical friends, impressing them with my fictitious knowledge of what it really means and what it actually does.  I’ve spoken to my staff about how important it is to be on the first page of a Google search, and any report analyzing your statistics that comes back with a lot of green on it means you’re doing well.  And then I go in my office, shut the door, and hold my hand over my mouth covering the stifled laugh not even ashamed I have people thinking I know what I’m talking about.

Then there’s Curtis.  Curtis keeps me honest.  You can’t pretend you know what you’re talking about when you’re with Curtis – I learned that quickly.  I joke about how Curtis must reluctantly take my phone calls asking him questions. I barely detect (but distinctly hear) the sound of a palm being slapped against his forehead as he takes a deep breath before explaining it, again.  Curtis uses words like content and foundation in a way that almost makes them sound sexy.  This is amusing to me as Curtis would turn as red as the indicator that alerts you your website ranking has decreased if he ever thought I interpreted his vocabulary as sexy.

Curtis came up with the idea to brand Susan Graham Consulting as a “Boutique” recruiting company.  “This will set you apart from the rest”, he assured me.  So here we are, Susan Graham Consulting, Boutique IT Recruiting Agency. But, what does that mean? What makes us a boutique?

Once job seekers find Susan Graham Consulting, the fun begins.  Our goal is always to match really great jobs with really great people, and we are very successful at doing just that.  We’re small but mighty.  We pay special attention to each and every detail that goes into a new job search.  We don’t have 15 recruiters passing your resume to any breathing client who might take an interest in your skills.  We KNOW our clients and have taken the time to know who they are as people, not just employers.  And this is what makes us stand apart from the others.

Kidding aside, Curtis is an extremely valuable asset to the team he so expertly represents, WebpageFX, and his ability to help me understand his world is immeasurable. With his help, Susan Graham Consulting is able to connect people with great companies; expanding our reach to those that may not have previously found our quaint family otherwise.  The IT world can be tough, but with a little help from our boutique, sweetly nestled here in Hershey, PA among the warm scents of chocolate, you too can find a career you love. So I’m going to keep on blogging and learning about Curtis’ world; always happy to have such a patient expert at the other end of the phone guiding me along the way no matter how many times I detect him slapping his forehead when I call.

Contact us today, we’d love to say hello.
