The old saying “you shouldn’t mix business with family” never rang true for me. My entire life my family has been involved in each other’s careers and businesses at some level, even if only through casual conversations over pasta at Sunday dinners. That’s how these Italian’s roll.
Growing up in a family full of go-getters and entrepreneurs, I was always shown the drive it takes to be successful and happy in your profession. I’ve grown my career through various roles in a wide variety of companies since graduating from college in 2010, but I never thought I’d end up working for my mom – twice! My career has taken me through the gamut of marketing and business development responsibilities, which aligns perfectly with what I do at SGC. A little of this, a little of that, and a whole LOT of fun!
After working for my mother the first time, (where I didn’t love my role of recruiting) I didn’t think there would be a time in my life where I’d work for her again. But when this different opportunity in her company came knocking, it was hard to close that door. Especially when I saw what an incredible team and company she had built since I had last worked for her.
I’ve worked in team settings in the past, but never one like this! This is the hardest working group of people I now have the pleasure of being a part. They work tirelessly to meet the needs of our clients while staying true to the SGC values of positivity and teamwork. I’m so looking forward to seeing where this opportunity takes me at SGC. And I couldn’t be prouder to work for my mom – again!
