We have an opening for a Microsoft Solutions Engineer to provide customer-focused Microsoft solutions. This position will work closely in a team environment with AE’s and SE’s to cultivate business in medium to enterprise markets across commercial, education and government verticals.

This candidate will:

  • Work with the pre-sales engineering team to successfully implement Microsoft solutions
  • Document implemented solutions with diagrams, and daily customer reports
  • Adhere to the “Plan, Design, Implement, Test, and Document” methodology
  • Deliver services per Statement of Work (SOW), best practice guides/processes, system integration documents, network design workbooks, and/or engagement overviews
  • Coordinate with Customer’s on-site facilities and technical contacts regarding readiness and delivery issues
  • Serve as the escalation point for any deployment issues
  • Keep track of and adhere to all administrative responsibilities in support of service delivery operations
  • Provide information to customers about their environment by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing potential issues
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to pick up and learn new products with little supervision, as well as adapt to a variety of situations and tasks
  • Continually updating job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, configuration techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

Desired skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university preferred with suggested emphasis in STEM majors
  • Five years of equivalent work experience
  • Excellent written, organizational, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to convey technical concepts to customers, including leading whiteboard discussions.
  • Able to coordinate and collaborate with customers to ensure successful system upgrades & installations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and certification (MCSE, MCSA, MCSD) in one of the following areas:
  • Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, Skype For Business, Lync, Office 365

Preferred experience/additional knowledge:

  • Servers: Hyper-converged, Rack or Blade Servers (Dell preferred)
  • Data Storage: Compellent, Dell & EMC o Storage Area Networking: FC, iSCSI, FCoE
  • Networking: Cisco CCNA, Dell Force 10
  • Virtualization Infrastructure: VMware vSphere, Citrix Xenserver, Microsoft Hyper-V
